If you haven’t heard of Rossi firearms yet, here is our spiel. Rossi is a Brazilian firearm manufacturer that has been around in the United States for quite some time, but it seems they are pushing out a ton of new items lately. They are fairly well known for their revolvers and have teamed up with Taurus here in the United States for their revolver lineup, but that’s not what we’re here to talk about today.

The Rossi R92 lever action is a copy of the Winchester Model 1892 and boy did they do a nice job with it. There is something about a lever gun that is just plain FUN especially the levers equipped with a big loop. The current offering from Rossi chambers these rifles in .357 magnum, .45 Colt, .44 magnum and .44-40 Winchester and they come in a great assortment of color combinations.

So far we have gotten our hands on the stainless steel octagon barrel with a gorgeous hardwood stock configuration as well as the stainless and gray laminate combination.Let’s dive into the octagon barrel first.

We were able to get an octagon barrel chambered in .44 magnum and one chambered in .357 magnum. Both of these rifles are a heck of a great value. The stock is gorgeous, has a great feel and finish to it and the octagon barrel is SWEET. The rifles have a nice smooth action and feel great in your hands. The only thing this combination needs is the big loop as opposed to the standard loop that it comes with. No worries, Rossi does offer a large loop in their store, we are on the waiting list when it comes back in stock.

The second version Rossi R92 that we have in stock is the stainless 16″ barrel with gray laminate stock. We have it chambered in .44 magnum, they make it in .357 magnum as well. This variant is more along the tactical lineup with a threaded barrel, scope rail from factory, and the shorter lighter barrel. Now the best part about this rifle, the BIG LOOP complete with leather wrap! Just something about the big loop that is so much fun. Again with this setup, great feel and build quality to it.

So if you’re looking for a reasonably priced lever gun with some varying options check out Rossi. We have some in stock and can order some of the other variants as well. These aren’t the only lever guns we have a soft spot for but the price, quality and availability of the various offerings has these on our radar. They also offer the R95 lever which is a copy of the Winchester Model 1895. We haven’t pulled the trigger on an R95 yet but there’s no doubt they are a great buy like the R92.
